Time
Time determines everything. How long have I been asleep? How long did it take me to travel to the store? Do I have enough time to watch this show?
Time in Tag and Tally is represented by 6 shifts, in a 24 hour day (if your day is longer or shorter you can determine this for yourself). Each shift is 4 hours long. 4 shifts are required to be active shifts containing 10 Action Points. The other 2 shifts are required to be Downtime Shifts, they contain 4 Downtime Points.
If you use an Action in a Downtime point you will retain for the next entire day Exhausted tag which will hinder all activates for the next day until you sleep at least 4 hours (1 full shift). If you do take another Action in the same period your Exhaustion tag goes up one Tier hindering by an additional level.
If your Exhaustion tag reaches Level 4, any additional Exhaustion cause a Lingering Trauma which will hinder additional actions based on the injury.
You can rearrange the shifts as you see fit, we recommend:
| Time | Shift | Points | Activity Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8am to 12pm | Morning | 10 AP | Any activity |
| 12pm to 4pm | Afternoon | 10 AP | Any activity |
| 4pm to 8pm | Evening | 10 AP | Any activity |
| 8pm to 12pm | Late Night | 10 AP | Any activity |
| 12pm to 4am | Graveyard | 4 DP | Downtime or Sleep |
| 4am to 8am | Dawn | 4 DP | Downtime or Sleep |
Action Points
Action points represent the number of scenes, rooms, blocks, hexes a character or group may do in any given day.
Traveling to a location can take up a number of AP slots, but you do not need to incur an additional cost to handle the events at your destination. Anything in the scene or destination does not cost an additional point, unless it leads you to another location (ie: on a street block and you go into a building — the scene has changed)
Downtime Points
Downtime Points represent the number of activities you can do that constitute resting in safe zone allowing you to heal wounds. You do not have to sleep, but it is recommended each character sleep 4 hours so they wake up Refreshed.
